Tip #3: House hunt with your furniture in mind

In the moving process, we often get swept up by beautiful hardwood floors and bay windows and forget how much furniture we have in tow. Signing a lease then realizing your king size bed and sleeper sofa won’t fit in the door, let alone in the studio apartment, is an annoying addition to moving stress. You might have to sell the bed, buy a new couch, deal with movers taking it back and forth…all options that tax the wallet.

To avoid this, measure your furniture before looking at new apartments and map it out during the viewing. At that point, its easy to decide whether you want to just ditch the couch and go with the apartment, or find something that suits your current furnishings better.
